Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actress, dancer and vocalist since the mid 1990s. Her initial performances on Broadway included in productions Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. She was awarded her Tony Award for Best Featured actor in a Play to play Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley Tony Award winning actor and actress has collaborated with actors and directors on stage and screen for the entirety of her professional career. Ashford's next project will be a limited edition Hulu show called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford stars opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently in the making of Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust starring Sarah Paulson. The movie will air on Disney DTC as a Hulu Original. Ashford's Broadway return is scheduled to take place on March 20, 2023. He is paired with Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton is the director of the show. Ashford was most recently seen in the role of Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. The show centers around the National Crisis that saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as the central figure in the country's First Impeachment Proceedings during the Over 100 Years. Ashford was a part of two seasons in the CBS popular comedy B Positive. The series was created by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. The show also had Ben Vereen and Elizondo. The actress has also performed in Broadway in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde as well as the original role of Lauren In Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for a Tony Award. Ashford splits her life between Los Angeles & New York. She was born in Denver & raised there.
